The Effective Governance Forum
A cross party campaign
to improve public services,
to increase productivity, to reduce costs by £ billions
to increase voter control at a local level.
The mechanics of the UK government are not working
The UK is one of the most centralised democratic countries in the world.
Most public services are poor quality, hugely expensive and some are at breaking point.
Voters know this.
58% believe “The management of public services (e.g. schools, hospitals) does not improve regardless of which party is in power.
63% believe that “taxpayers do NOT get good value for money from the public services – health, education, policing and so on – paid for by their taxes”
The blame lies with the UK’s current system of government, which has given politicians and civil servants impossible jobs.
